The Kids of Summer

Capture your kids this summer, the suntans, the smiles, the winning personality.  Before you know it, they'll be off to college (trust me, I know).  Preserve the memories!

I'm scheduling free studio photo sessions to photograph your children this summer.  You can purchase 13x19 inch ultraboard direct prints (like a very nice mounted poster).  These mounted posters have a museum mount affixed to the back which enables you to very easily and simply mount the print directly to your wall.  No custom frames are required to wall-mount these plus-size prints.

Here's how it works.  You schedule a session for your children at my home studio.  There is no charge for the session.  Bring the kids in their bathing suits, or their summer attire.  Bring your props or use mine.  We'll have a short session (about 15 minutes per child) getting several poses.  After the session, I'll put your proofs on my web server where you can make your selection.  Order large 13x19 inch prints as described above.  I'll edit the images (using some of my secret sauce) and add the child's name (or text of your choice) to the bottom of the image and send it off to the lab for printing.  I use a local lab, so I get the prints back very quickly.

Prices:

  • 13x19 inch, ultraboard direct print, museum mount, single image and text - $45
  • 13x19 inch, ultraboard direct print, museum mount, 3-image composite and text - $55

Contact me with your questions or to schedule your studio session.  As you can see, I've photographed children as young as 7 months for this project (nice if they can sit up themselves) up to pre-teen.  I'm thinking children, but will be happy to photograph any and all your children this summer.

Call, text, email, smoke-signal me to find out more and reserve a place on my calendar.  Tell your BFF.  Since we're shooting in the nice cool studio, we can do this any time of the day.

This actually came to me in a dream last week.  I've had fun putting together these samples - thanks to all my wonderful models.  Enjoy some more sample Summer Kid Portraits - click any thumbnail image for larger version.

LDS Temple pictures - Great holiday gifts.

I wanted to let you know about my collection of LDS Temple photos.  I have them on a website from which you can directly make purchases.

You may know that I've traveled most of the country photographing the temples.  I haven't gotten to them all, but I've photographed the majority of them.  You may have seen some of these photos, antiqued by my cousin, available at Deseret Book stores.  These are those same temple photos, with the addition of a few new ones.  They have been artistically interpreted and edited and have a different look than the postcard versions you see so often.

You can purchase directly from the web site using your credit card.  I'll have the prints made up and you can pick them up from me or I can mail them to you if you're not local.

Here's the web site: www.bkbarnes.photoreflect.com.
Just click the link to LDS Temples.

There are two versions of the prints available, let me briefly explain them.

Finished Print - These images are printed using a photographic process and mounted on 1/2 inch black gator board (unlike foam core, gator board is a finished backing material and will not flex).  The prints are laminated with a UV coating, and a museum mount is affixed to the back side of the gator board.  This museum mount uses a cleat and clip sort of attachment; you just screw the clip strip to your wall and the cleat on the back of the print fits into the clip.  An additional strip of mounting material is affixed to the bottom of the print ensuring it will hang perpendicular with your wall surface.  It's a finished solution - ready to hang.

Print
- This photographic print is mounted to 3/16 inch white foam core.  It is intended for those people who want to frame the print behind glass and want to select their own frame to match their home decorating color scheme and style.  The print has no UV coating, so it will need to be hung behind glass for UV protection.  I can recommend a framer here in the valley who does nice work at reasonable prices if you like.

In addition to these two variations on prints, don't overlook the small 4x12 inch mini-panoramas that come mounted on 3/16 black gator board and are laminated for UV protection.  They come with a small display easel.

I haven't finished putting up all the temples that I've photographed, but I'm adding them regularly.  If you have a favorite temple and would like me to put it on the top of my list, please let me know.  If you don't see the size you need, let me know and I'll be happy to accommodate you.

Thanks for your continued support and I hope you have a happy and fun holiday season.

Regards,
Bruce Barnes

Senior photos - it's time...

It's time to start thinking about your high school senior's graduation photos. Give me a call or shoot me an email and let's put together something fun and different. I've been doing senior portraits for a few years now and actually it's one of the most fun things I do.

In addition to the photo session that can be as original and wacky as you can dream up, I have some nice ideas for prints and a very affordable senior album. In fact, one of my albums was selected by my publisher and used in their traveling displays - here's a link. I have a copy of this album here at the office, stop by and take a look.

To see a couple of albums I've done for graduates in the last few years, click here and here.

Here on the blog, I have some photos of seniors from the last few years. You can find them using the Labels on the left-hand side of the blog or by following this link directly.

About Me

My photo
Queen Creek, Arizona, United States
Here is where I post images from recent shoots and occasional personal info that I like to share with my friends. I will slowly add photos from old shoots as I have time. Check back from time to time to see what's new. Call or email if you'd like to chat about a photo opportunity. If you've come to visit, please just leave a brief comment. You don't have to like the photos, just let me know you were here. I'd really appreciate it.
